April 3, 2003 (13 weeks, 1 day)

Not looking too happy in this picture, and it's technically from the first trimester, but I'm posting it anyway because I want to show you the giant changes to come... (I am writing this on May 7th, and that T-shirt definitely doesn't fit anymore!)

April 17, 2003 (15 weeks, 1 day)

We heard the baby's heartbeat today! It was wonderful, like a little underwater creature. It sounded happy. (I hope so!) 158 bpm, for anyone who's counting.

May 7th, 2003 (18 weeks)

Whee! Check this out. I am definitely looking pregnant now! In just a few weeks, we should be able to find out "who" we're having, a boy or a girl. So exciting.

I am feeling much better overall, but still getting sick a couple times a week... sigh! On the bright side, baby started kicking this week, which has been wonderful.

May 22, 2003 (20 weeks, 1 day)

We had our Level II ultrasound today - it's a girl! After all the "blue vibes" and boy dreams I have had, I was sure surprised, but happy!

She was a good girl, and gave the ultrasound tech no trouble at all in telling us who she was. Now we have to think of some girl names. Baby has been very active the past few weeks. It was the best to feel her little wiggles, and then see them on screen a split second later. She feels like she's tap dancing right now.

Here are some pictures:

This is my favorite, you can see her little mouth is open! Her profile is so clear. (she has my nose already)

This one is Chris's favorite, because you get a better view of her eye.

I don't want to jinx it, but I think the morning sickness is about over with... knock wood, heh. Now, on to heartburn! (and shopping for girl clothes!)

May 28th, 2003 (21 weeks)

Here I am modeling a new blouse, a gift from Chris's mom. (thank you! I love it!) There is a big difference between the 18 week photo above and this one. The fun thing about this picture is that it looks like I'm holding my shirt so I look bigger... but I'm not, I'm actually holding it against my tummy. Hee hee.

Baby is getting stronger every day. Chris can feel her kick about half the time now. Sometimes she even causes visible earthquakes in my belly. We bought her crib yesterday, and she has a lot of adorable outfits, but we are still working on her name... I guess there's plenty of time!

May 29th, 2003 (21 weeks)

Here are some photos of baby's beautiful new crib and her wardrobe... we had to put something in it so it didn't look so empty!

Our baby will definitely be well-dressed, thanks to our parents, relatives, and friends! (and my shopping trips to the outlet mall) Thank you! Can't wait to post some photos of her modeling some of these things later in the fall.

July 2, 2003 (26 weeks)

Expanding... a big difference in the last 5 weeks, isn't there? Next week is the beginning of the third trimester - two-thirds of the way done. Baby is still kicking a lot, she doesn't like to go too long without letting me know she is in there.

Looking back at the pictures at the top of this page... where I thought I was huge... now I think I looked really, really small! Funny that! ;)

On to the third trimester!
