What I need is for the focus to keep changing, though. The three newer projectors I have do have an automatic timer so they keep advancing the slides if I want. I just took a look at the remote that I have and it doesn't seem to have a focus button on it, though I know some of the newer models do have a focus button on the remote.

I have two types of projectors. One is the projector in the Kodak link I posted. The other is much more basic. It has a focus dial on top, but it doesn't have an auto focus. I'd be happy with a jimmyrig (sorry for the pun, Jimmy) for either one.

Ah, we used to have one of those I believe. They have a corded remote for changing the slide, right? The slacker way way would just be to change the wires of the remote or take apart the remote and insert something under the change slide button so it always has contact.

Take a look here: http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/slideProj/ektagraphic/ownerManual/ektg_iii4.shtml#115726
I'm not sure if that's a good enough diagram for you, let me know.
I do have 4 of these projectors. If you feel confident that you can do it, maybe I can let you borrow one to tinker with.

I have a slightly strange proposition for the residents of xenius. I will give an award of $25 to the first person who can accurately tell me how to make a Kodak slide projector focus mechanism malfunction so that it keeps moving back and forth without a human manually touching it. Any takers?

Jeffron, we like Kucinich so much that we're going to ask him if he'd like to officiate our wedding. Too bad he's not going to make it to the primaries.

Ah Coop, welcome back. I'm back too, wi-fi enabled, so hopefully I'll be able to post more regularly instead of just lurking about libraries. I'm most excited about being able to download folkses mp3's and media and such, which I haven't been able to do for awhile. It's been a cold, silent winter.

Neutral Milk Hotel, yes, I've had the album for a few years and remember the initial rapture of the first 50 or so listenings. I love how the volume is mixed on that one track, where it sounds like the singer is about to lunge through the speaker. Currently I have in heavy rotation 'This Green World', a Brian Eno album from 1975 that sounds like it might have been recorded yesterday. Andalso, though I am somewhat bashful to admit it, both of Poe's albums ('Hello' and 'Haunted').

I've been in this cafe for an hour leeching electricity, and as I don't have the cash for a cup of coffee and I'm jones'in for a jolt, it's back to the apt for some home-brewed java. More soon, folks...

Anyone with thoughts on the Dems? New Hampshire? Or is it all moot? I really, really don't think I want to be in America if Bush wins again this year, Ick, I don't even want to think about it...

Bush, or...

Uhg. Shame that it is the stupidest people that pass on more genes.
More evote security warnings.
Mars photos from Euro probe.
Lot of new 'lie-detector' technology coming soon. False positive? What's that?

Coop, you were definitely missed!

Eh, the first thing I saw when I opened the page was your name and then "being only 16 days late", and I thought "she's having another one??"

I mean, I guess that's just how the sleepy brain works. Like you'd really announce being "late" on a public forum. Yeesh, sorry I even brought this up.

Recording with Adam is going well, even though until now all we've done is create noise samples with the Atari and a few other sources. In a few minutes we begin the actual stuff. Good for the soul and the neighbors.

Here's a noise recording, still being worked on...thought I'd upload it for sample's sake.
Atari Nightmare 4.? mb

And the slightly creepy sample work from Clockwork: Gulliver

16 days. it feels like it's been so so so long since new years eve, but i guess it's only been 16 days.

I bought Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea last week. It's amazing. I'm several years too late on getting it but now I have it and it's incredible. I hate buying cds and only getting a few good tracks, and the others being alright but not stellar. I haven't felt this way about a cd in a long time. It's such a good cd! I feel like running through the streets yelling about how good it is at the top of my lungs.

Uh. Yeah, that's pretty much it.
