Part 2
March 19
On Friday, it rained, so we went to Chuck E Cheese & the mall -- excitement! On Saturday, (the 19th) we drove down to San Juan Capistrano to the Festival of the Swallows.

Daddy and Charlotte wait for the parade

There were a lot of horses and dogs in the parade, which had Charlotte all excited!

Due to the rain, we didn't see any swallows. We guessed they were hiding out in the mission somewhere. We didn't take the tour because we doubted Charlotte would put up with standing in line, but it was pretty!

Noooo, I want Mama!

Happy again
We drove up the Pacific Coast Highway afterward and stopped at a lovely state park between Laguna Beach and Newport Beach. (Crystal Cove) It was doubly nice to be there in the off-season, since we didn't have to pay for parking. The beach was gorgeous.

Charlotte insisted on walking almost all the way up to the car herself. She is getting so big and strong.

On Sunday, we went to the L.A. Zoo, and then to our friend Emily's house. Unfortunately, we forgot to get the camera out while we were there!

March 21

On Monday morning, we drove around Hollywood again with Chris. We'd looked up the best place to gawk at the Hollywood sign. They were great directions. All along the road, there were signs saying "NO access to the Hollywood Sign," which we translated as, "You can look but you can't touch!" Hehe.
This is the best picture we got. It was fun to drive around there, even if we saw nobody famous.
Monday night was a bit less of a positive adventure, our flight was several hours late and we didn't get home until 5 AM! We are still recovering from that part. ;)
Hope you enjoyed the photos!
